Valentine’s Day Candy Treats

We had a little downtime today while Mollie was napping so I occupied the boys by making these yummy Valentine’s Day Hershey’s hug treats.  They were so good that it was hard not to eat them all as we were making them.

Cooking with the boys can get messy and overwhelming, but this project was perfect because it was so simple.  I lined up the pretzels as the boys unwrapped the hugs.  We used butter pretzel snaps (like these). Then we put them in the oven at 190 degrees for about 4 or 5 minutes.

When they look shiny and start to droop just a little, they are ready (I tested one on the corner while they were in the oven by poking it to see if it was ready to flatten…I had to eat that one of course).  Then the boys pushed the M&Ms into them.  We cooled them in the fridge for about 10 minutes.

They popped off the tin foil really easily once cooled.  They were a huge hit (too huge maybe…I couldn’t get the boys to stop eating them).
